Sergeant Noel Hensley Blair was born in 1918 and hailed from Stoke, Nelson, New Zealand.

He was co-pilot on a Wellington bomber with 115 Sqn, flying out of Marham, Norfolk.

On 12 April 1942 Sgt. Blair and his crew took off in Wellington III X3596/B, at 22.57 for a raid on Essen. They were shot down by a night fighter over The Netherlands around 0100, 13 April, and crashed into the IJsselmeer, off the coast near Urk. The whole crew perished.

Sergeant Blair is buried at the Nieuwe Oosterbegraafplaats in Amsterdam Plot 85. Row D. Grave 13.
