Kazimierz Zerebecki birthday is stated as 1 january 1910.
Other sources state it as 1 september 1910. His birthplace
is Tarnapol. Nothing is known about him before he became
a navigator with 305 Polish Squadron. It is likely he was
with the Polish Armed Forces when Germany invaded
Poland on 1 september 1939.

After the Polish capitulation he would have made his
way to England where he joined the Polish forces.
Kazimierz became a navigator with 305 Polish Squadron. On
19 June 1941 he and his crew took part in a mission against
the Germany city of Bremen.
Kazimierz crew consisted of:
Plutonowy (Corporal) Mieczyslaw Debkowski
Porucznik (Flying Officer) Kazimierz Jaklewicz
Plutonowy (Corporal) Stanislaw Lewek
Plutonowy (Corporal) Edward Olonyn

305 Squadron

Plutonowy (Corporal) Henryk Rogowski
Kapitan (Flight Lieutenant) Kazimierz Zerebecki

The crew took off in Vickers Wellington Mk 1C R1696 SM-P from their base Syerston in Nottingham.
The aircraft was shot down at 00.53 hours by a Bf 110 flown by Oblt Prinz Egmomt van Lippe Weissenfeld and Uffz Josef Rennette. The aircraft crashed in the municipality of Grootebroek-Lutjebroek - Hoogkarspel, the Netherlands.

The exploding 500 lbs bombs caused tremendous damage; 26 houses were damaged or destroyed.

Kapitan Zerebecki died in the crash. Plutonowy Rogowski also died. Sources state he died later in a German hospital and that he was buried at first as a Unknown Airman in the cemetery of Lutjebroek. Later he was reburied at Bergen War Cemetery and his body was reburied a second time at Breda Polish War Cemetery, this time after being identified.

Kazimierz Zerebecki was awarded the Polish Order of the
Virtuti Militari.

Kapitan Zerebecki is buried at Bergen War Cemetery.
