Not much is known about John Francis Terrell. He was born in 1924 and was the son of Richard and Alice Terrell, of Newtown, Birtley, Co. Durham.

John joined the British Army and became a private with the Guard Armoured Ordnance Sub Park, which was part of the Royal Army Ordnance Corps of the Guards Armored Division.

John was killed on 21 October 1944, near Budel. The circumstances of his death are as yet unknown.

Private John Terrell is buried at Budel Roman Catholic Cemetery.
