P/O Parkin and his
crew took off from their base at Snaith at 22.26 in Halifax
HR934.
They were lost without a
trace. They crashed in the North Sea. The cause
of their demise is not known.
The bodies of the crew
eventually washed ashore on Dutch beached. P/O
Parkin's
body washed ashore on the Dutch coast near
Castricum and was interred here.
Sgt Thompson, P/O Smyth
and P/O Parkin are buried at Castricum , F/O
Cole and Sgt Taylor are buried at Bergen, PO
Sarginson is buried at Vlieland and Sgt Edwards
is buried at Bergen op Zoom.
