Location: Enkhuizen is
located in the northwest of The Netherlands, in the province of
Noord Holland.

Enkhuizen is located about
27 km north of Amsterdam. The General Cemetery is
on a street called
Oosterdijk. Driving from Amsterdam, take the A7 to Hoorn/Enkuizen.
Take exit #9 (noord Hoorn) just north of Hoorn, onto the
N302. Follow this road until you enter Enkhuizen. The
sign will say Enkhuizen (indicating a right turn), but continue straight on
until you reach a T-section at the end of the road.
(This will be about 15-20 kilometers!). Take a right
turn here (you actually follow the road). The cemetery is
immediately on your left.
Indicated on the map
are the cemetery in Enkhuizen, where six of the crew are
buried. The cemetery of
Bovenkarspel,
where F/O Evans
is buried (Green flag) and the location of the memorial.
There are 8 war casualties commemorated in this site
of which two are unknown.
