Pilot Officer Alfred Victor Brooks was from Chatham.

He was promoted to Pilot Officer on 5 December 1941.

He was part of the crew of Wing Commander James, commanding officer of 9 Squadron RAF. Pilot Officer Brooks was killed in action on 21 June 1942, on  a mission to Emden.

It is not known how P/O Brooks and his crew were lost. He was 22.
