Frederick Maxfield was born in 1913 and was from Hayes, Middlesex. He was the son of Son of Frederick and Margaret Maxfield and married to Sybil Maxfield.

He became a Wireless Operator with 150 Sqn.

On 14 August 1942 he was promoted to Pilot Officer.

he was lost on 15 October 1942. The circumstances of his death are not known at this time. He was found on the coast of Groningen and buried in Ulrum. 

P/O Maxfield is also commemorated on the War Memorial in Alderley Edge, Cheshire.
