Bovenkarspel General Cemetery

Location: Bovenkarspel is located in the northwest of Holland, in the province of Noord Holland.

 
Bovenkarspel is a village 56 kilometers north-east of
Amsterdam, and 38 kilometers east of Alkmaar. From Amsterdam, take the A7 to Den Helder/Leeuwarden. Take exit #9 (noord Hoorn) just north of Hoorn, onto the N302. Bovenkerk lies just west of Enkuizen, where the remainder of the crew is buried. The cemetery is in the road called Broekerhavenweg, about 100 yards south of the main street and lies alongside the railtrack. The grave of F/O Evans is marked by a permanent private memorial which was erected by the local authorities.
