John Lawrence Seymour

John Lawrence Seymour was born in 1917 and from Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire. He was the son of Harry Alfred and Annie Margaret Seymour and married to Mary Seymour. They lived in Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire.

John joined the Royal Air Force and became a navigator with 418 R.C.A.F. squadron, flying Mosquitos out of Ford, Sussex.

On 25/26 July 1943, F/O Seymour and his navigator F/S Hugh Hay were sent on an Intruder mission with other mossies of 418 Squadron to airfields in The Netherlands. they were flying mosquito HJ822.

What happened after they took off is not known but their mosquito crashed 3 kilometers North-West from Schiphol airfield at 23.55, killing both men.

Flying Officer Seymour is buried in Hoofddorp, Row 1. Grave 5.
