Arthur G. Courson

Arthur G. Courson was born on 11 May 1909, and was the son of Nina B. Courson. He was from Akron, Ohio. He attended St. Martha's Grade School.

He enlisted in Abilene, Texas on 21 May 1943. His enlistment card states he was seperated at the time and was a musician.

 

 19th Special Service Company

Due to his peacetime occupation, Arthur found himself with the 19th Special Service Company. Special Service Companies took care of many of the entertainment facilities to the troops; they organized concerts, U.S.O. shows and film screenings for the troops.

What exactly Arthurs role was within the 19th is unclear, but he most likely was a musician in a band. 

Arthur was killed on 30 April 1945 near Beckham, Germany in a Non-Battle motor vehicle accident.

He was Thirty-five years old at the time of his death

After the war Pfc Courson was re-interred at Margraten Military Cemetery, Plot B Row 11 Grave 15.
