Ernest L. Baer

Not much is known about Ernest L. Baer. He was born in 1922 and lived in Henry County, Ohio where he worked as a truck driver. He was married and enlisted in the US Army  on 11 November 1944.

He was attached to the 159th Infantry Regiment, an independent Infantry unit. The 159th went overseas in 1945 and landed in France on 18 March 1945.

The unit was attached to the 106th Infantry

Division and remained with that division throughout the war. The 159th entered Germany on 25 April 1945.

Private Ernest Baer was killed in a non battle accident on June 7, 1945. The exact circumstances of his death are unknown.

Pvt Ernest Baer is buried at Margraten American Military Cemetery, Plot O Row 16 Grave 2.
