Thomas J. Foster was born in 1921 en from Washtenaw County, Michigan. He joined the Army after two years in college on 31 July 1944 in Fort Sheridan, Illinois.

After training he was attached to H Company,  275th Infantry Regiment, 70th Infantry Division.

It is not known when Pfc Forster joined the unit or if he was with them through the whole campaign.

It is thought he, and Pfc Harold Graham, drowned in an lake when on R&R in Valkenburg, The Netherlands on May 12, 1945, only four days after the German surrender.

Pfc Thomas Foster is buried at Margraten Military Cemetery, Plot M Row 18 Grave 8.
