Rocco J. Rossi was was born in 1924.
He was the son of Nicholas and Mary Rossi, and
the family lived at 347 Liberty Street, Camden,
New Jersey.
He was inducted
into the United States Army on 5 May 1943, and
received three months of training at the Armored
Force Replacement Center at Fort Knox, KY in the
spring of 1943. In September of 1943, he had
completed that training, and had been selected
to train as a radio electrician at the Fort Knox
Armored School.
He joined C
Company, 33rd
Engineer Battalion, part of the 7th Armored
Division.
