Frank P. Weiss was from Akron, Ohio. He was one of three sons of Joe Weiss. He Attended St. Martha's Grade School.

S/Sgt Weiss was wounded twice in other battles prior to his death on March 27, 1945.

At the time of his death, his brother John was with the US Army in Belgium and his brother Joe, Jr. in the Philippines.

S/Sgt Weiss was twenty-two years old at the time of his death.
