Alistair Campbell was born in 1924, son of William and Jessie Campbell, of Coatbridge, Lanarkshire.

He was an wireless operator with 78 Squadron RAF. Sgt Campbell was killed in action on 23 September 1944 on a mission to Neuss, Germany. His plane crashed near Weert.

He is buried at Weert (Molenpoort) Roman Catholic Cemetery. He was 20.
