This unknown Airman died on 10 May 1940 and is buried in Zoelen General Cemetery.

The circumstances of his death are not known at this time. The same day a German Ju-52 transport plane, carrying German troops to an airfield in the west of the Netherlands was also shot down and crashed near Zoelen. It is

thought that this plane was shot down by Dutch anti aircraft fire.
